Dr. Ying Wang (Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry) leads the Wang Lab, where he studies ways to create a universal and longer-lasting flu vaccine, and thermo-stable liquid formulations for RNA pharmaceuticals. Wang receives grant funding from NCInnovation and the National Science Foundation to support his research.
Dr. Diana Heath (Department of Philosophy & Religion) is an expert on the intersections of ancient religious traditions, emerging technologies, and the evolving landscape of belief, including the human fascination with magic and extraterrestrial life. Dr. Peter Schuhmann (Department of Economics & Finance) is an appointed member of the Pool of Experts of the United Nations Regular Process for Global Reporting and Assessment of the State of the Marine Environment (Speciality 4: The South Atlantic Ocean and the Wider Caribbean). Dr. Alana Seaman’s (School of Health & Applied Human Sciences) research explores cultural facets of tourism, sports, and deviant leisure. Her interdisciplinary work – which crosses cultural and performance studies, humanistic geography, literary theory, gastronomy, and environmental science– is evident in the range of her scholarly publications.
