I graduated with my BSN from The Ohio State University in 2004. As an RN, I first worked in the Duke Intensive Care Nursery and then later in the Emergency Department. Working in the ED helped me realize the importance of primary care, so I returned to school and graduated from Duke with my MSN in 2009. I have over 15 years of experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner working in various sites such as a Federally Qualified Health Center, large health systems, and an NP-owned primary care clinic. I currently work at a school-based clinic in Pender County. What I enjoy most about being in the nursing field is the relationships that are established with patients. I truly enjoy working with students and being part of their journey as they grow in knowledge and experience.
