  • This study used a multiple baseline across participants design to analyze the effects of explicit instruction on students' vocabulary knowledge on high-stakes test items. Participants were fourth and fifth graders with autism or a learning disability. Results, which showed a functional relation between explicit instruction and students' gains in vocabulary, will be discussed.
