Abstract

  • Extreme high temperatures exceeding bleaching thresholds (DHW) occurred at San Andres Island, Seaflower Bosphere Reserve causing massive bleaching on coral reefs and reefs crests–key ecosystems for coastal protection, wellbeing, and economy of the island. We present aerial images comparing the same reef crest during 2022 (no bleaching) and 2023 (bleaching).
