North Carolina (NC) higher education institutions were surveyed to verify the need for this certification. Data was collected to research similar certificate programs in the NC university system to analyze course patterns and gaps. In addition, we collected job postings in this field for one month from the following job-posting sites: LinkedIn, Indeed, ZipRecruiter, and Glassdoor. We also surveyed practitioners in the field to determine how they are currently using AI and other disruptive technologies for practice and what needs they may have. The results from each of these data sources will be used to develop a certificate program with unique features and prominent courses to attend the need and enhance enrollment.
