North Carolina Science Leadership Association's (NCSLA) mission promotes leadership opportunities for both formal and informal science education through offering a forum to exchange ideas and information, advancing quality STEM instruction, advocating supportive education policies and legislation, and promoting equal access benefiting a diverse membership. Attendees will learn about professional development opportunities provided, the professional meetings organized, the Burroughs-Wellcome Fund’s Science Leadership Fellows Program, and the advocacy efforts led by this professional organization. Today, science leadership begins in every school setting and includes lead teachers, department chairs, science coordinators and supervisors, informal educators, university professors, state agency specialists, private science consultants, business and industry.
