Supply chains span multiple cultures, countries, and time zones. There are two aspects of security in a supply chain; that of the products and assets; and the information technology. Supply chain efficiency can be achieved if the entities in a supply chain are connected through information systems. It helps to quickly transmit information and helps with agility and adaptability. We propose that enhancing a firm’s security alone may not help with improving the supply chain cybersecurity. It requires the powerful member of the supply chain to take leadership in cybersecurity efforts. We propose frameworks for evaluating the risks in the supply chain and supplier selection process.
