This session provides a Year 2 look at a three-year university-sponsored grant effort to infuse teaching and learning in pre-service teacher and leadership preparation programs. Faculty from teacher and leader preparation programs, along with evaluation faculty, have worked together to “reshape the supervision narrative” with a focus on how leaders observe teachers, provide bi-directional feedback, and how both teachers and leaders can begin to work and learn together. . . before they assume their roles. This effort seeks to infuse collaboration and reflection into an organic supervisory process by creating an environment of shared practice and reflection. This presentation will draw from early reflections and a working paper that offers insights into how the programs have begun working together to change the way we prepare teachers and administrators to view instruction, reflect together, and collaborate to bolster student learning.
