  • Three co-teachers with co-created and co-taught dance, fitness and yoga to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their community. Individuals without disabilities were also welcomed to participate in the adapted community fitness class to break down social barriers between individuals with and without disabilities. After a qualitative collective-case study approach was used to collect data, three themes were found through interviews with the participants, they were (a) community, (b) self-development, (c) teaching as motivating, and (d) fitness as important.
