Description
From the website: Caroline Grant, an editor of Mama, Ph.D: Women Write About Motherhood and Academic Life (Rutgers University Press 2008), and three contributors to the book, Susan O'Doherty, Alissa McElreath, and Jean-Anne Sutherland will join us for a panel discussion. Like the book, the discussion will address personal narratives by women about their experiences in attempting to reconcile bodies with brains. The discussion will include thoughts of academic women as they choose to have, not have, or delay children. The goal of this discussion is to speak to and offer support for women (and their supportive partners) who are attempting to combine work and family, and will explore how we can make the academy a more family-friendly workplace.
