Online education, a form of distance education, provides individuals with opportunities to engage in learning from any location where a computer and internet access are available. Nurse educators can utilize distance learning modalities to deliver educational programs that facilitate the lifelong learning of current and future nurses. The purpose of this session is to present pedagogical approaches to teaching and learning in an online environment. Online courses currently being delivered by nurse educators that demonstrate adherence with quality indicators will be shared as examples. The goal of the session is to prepare nurse educators to create and deliver quality online courses that can be used in nursing education, staff development, and professional development.
