Although information technology (IT) is omnipresent in health care, many nurses lack skill and competency in its use. National organizations have developed guidelines for improved integration of health care informatics (HCI) into the nursing curricula and use in practice. Barriers to effective use of IT are found within nursing practice and education as well as in health care institutions. All of these factors can impact the development of knowledge, skills, and attitudes (KSA) in nursing informatics. This study explores the effect of an e-learning module on the development of knowledge, skills, and attitudes in nursing informatics in nursing students and practicing registered nurses. The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) was utilized to direct and measure this study.
