Description

  • The overarching goal of this project was to encourage baccalaureate pre-nursing students to incorporate elements of fine arts, humanities, and sciences to better address patient care challenges in a holistic manner while providing insight into human needs. This project included a convenience sampling of 48-50 baccalaureate pre-nursing students in a first semester senior year pediatric/community nursing courses. It is an experiential learning project that requires students to develop a creative expression of their chosen patient. Students then write a 2-4 page critical reflective anonymous essay responding to questions based on Bloom’s Taxonomy. The PI collated the qualitative responses, identifying common themes.
