Please join us for a presentation by Emily Louise Smith, founder and publisher of the award-winning literary imprint Lookout Books. Ms. Smith is also the director of the Publishing Laboratory and serves as the art director for the magazine Ecotone. She also teaches publishing arts at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. In 2011, she was named Wilmington’s Woman of Achievement in the Arts, as well as UNCW’s Lecturer of the Year. Ms. Smith will talk about the founding and early success of Lookout Books, including Edith Pearlman’s Binocular Vision and two subsequent titles: God Bless America by Steve Almond and When All the World Is Old by John Rybicki.
