Description
The University of North Carolina-Wilmington (UNCW) established an international teacher education program with San Pedro Town, Belize in 2009. The initial activity was a pilot group (7) of undergraduate and graduate students earning teacher licensure in elementary and secondary areas completed a 5-week field experience internship in schools in San Pedro Town. Students were placed at San Pedro High School (4) and Isla Bonita Primary School (3). Students worked in collaboration with classroom teachers at the two host schools and were supervised by a university faculty member
