We presented findings of a camera–trap study of a poorly studied Neotropical cat, the margay (Leopardus weidii) conducted at the Wildsumaco Wildlife Sanctuary in Sumaco, Ecuador. We documented the highest density of margays yet recorded, and described activity and behavior patterns of the margay at Wildsumaco in detail, including assessments of the effect of habitat structure, baiting regimen, and activity patterns of sympatric carnivores on margay camera–trap success
