Directed a contemporary production of Romeo and Juliet for the University of North Carolina Wilmington Department of Theatre in February 2025. The production combined Shakespeare’s text with a live rock-influenced musical score, contemporary youth culture aesthetics, and performance-based storytelling to create an accessible and emotionally immediate interpretation for modern audiences. The production featured collaborative work between student actors, musicians, designers, and faculty artists, emphasizing ensemble-driven performance, physical storytelling, and innovative approaches to classical theatre. Audience and media responses highlighted the production’s energy, musical integration, and contemporary reimagining of Shakespeare’s tragedy.
