In order to provide additional linkages between students’ international experiences and those in UNCW Watson School of Education (WSE) methods courses, Drs. Elizabeth Crawford and Bill Bolduc (along with a UNCW student) collected video footage and other relevant documentation of teacher candidates during their International Field Experience (EDN 495 / EDN 595) in selected primary and secondary schools in San Pedro, Belize during Spring, 2011. This presentation highlights the experiences of UNCW interns, including their perceptions of teaching abroad prior to and during the International Field Experience. Included in this experience are students’ service projects in Belizean classrooms and the community, and how UNCW interns perceive their work will impact their teaching practices in the future.
