Abstract

The “Encounter Event” invites students, faculty, staff, and community members to participate in two intergenerational arts-based events that challenge assumptions about intergenerational communication and what older bodies can do as well as foster appreciation for the role of arts (specifically movement/physical theater/dance and film) in exploring social scientific concepts.
The events will take place on April 18 and 19, 2024, with a screening of the film, August Pace (1989-2019) on the 18th and an intergenerational, movement-based Encounter workshop on the 19th with NYC-based Guggenheim Fellow and Wilmington native, Kimberly Bartosik.
