Aligned with the 2025 conference theme ‘Making International Business Scholarship Matter’, this panel provides an opportunity for IB scholars to discuss how their research based on the X-Culture project and related database has created impact in the field of international business and beyond. The panel will provide a forum to ensure a substantive interchange among panelists as well as considerable interaction and discussion with the audience. Panelists are experts on publishing based on the X-Culture database and will discuss topics related to the panel theme of “how IB research based on the X-Culture database matters”. Panelists will present on a range of topics related to this panel theme, including (a) an overview of the X-Culture database, which includes survey data from more than 100,000 X-Culture graduates (undergraduate, graduate and executive students) from more than 100 countries over a period of 15 years, (b) how the database was compiled and how it can be accessed and used, to (c) a discussion of previously published and current research projects based on the vast X-Culture database as well as opportunities for interested scholars to empirically test interesting, relevant and impactful research questions based on this database and so make their scholarship matter.
