Abstract
- Cyber Workforce and Industry Engagement Expansion grant supports UNCW’s participation in the Carolina Cyber Network and advances cybersecurity education focused on maritime transportation systems, a critical infrastructure subsector responsible for much of the nation’s goods movement. Internally, the project supports development of a maritime transportation systems track within the B.S. Cybersecurity program, creating a workforce pipeline for maritime cybersecurity needs in North Carolina and beyond. Externally, the grant expands industry engagement through stakeholder collaboration, specialized training, and cybersecurity support for small and medium-sized maritime businesses. These efforts strengthen hands-on education, work-based learning, and partnerships across North Carolina’s two-year and four-year institutions while preparing students to become job-ready cybersecurity professionals.
