In the Fall, I launched the 2nd phase of my ongoing / long-term project titled “Retention / Detention as an evolving permanent installation on the Cameron Art Museum retention pond. This final phase included a water quality sensor system that displays a visual barometer of the current water quality / health levels through color and light pulses. The launch of this 2nd phase was shared as a part of the 2024 FlowILM event at the Cameron Art Museum. I also applied for a Spring 2025 Cahill grant to fund the completion of Phase 2 including a remote viewing system for galleries / museums, a webcam system to view island wildlife and a more stable cellular internet connection. Lastly, I was invited to reapply for the 2026, NEA funded Creative Capital grant to fund phase 3 of the project, supporting the development of a new, modular version of the project for additional bodies of water (in our region and beyond. https://coactionlab.org/retention-detention/
