Funeral for the Theatre: A Collaborative Final "Exam"
Presentation
Overview
Overview
Description
This collaborative final project required the class to design, curate, and produce an audience experience which would demonstrate the importance of history to the contemporary and future theatre industry. Inspired by the Federal Theatre Project's production of Pinocchio in 1939, students staged a public event in which artists from theatre history appeared to eulogize their "dear friend", the theatre. Students had the freedom to choose how to participate and contribute including script development, performance, lighting design, house management, publicity, and physical exhibits.
