Abstract

  • All recipients of 1898: Legacies and Futures Curriculum Development awards will be a part of a curriculum development cohort. This cohort will receive a library of 1898 essential reads. This cohort will meet twice weekly from May 24 – June 16, 2022, with our time divided between touring Black history sites in Wilmington, attending presentations from community partners and outside experts, and workshopping participants’ syllabi and course materials. Participants are required to bring in a draft syllabus to the workshop and be open to working in the group setting, workshopping that syllabus and receiving feedback.
After the workshop, participants are expected to submit a final syllabus and are encouraged to submit the LDN University Studies paperwork for the course by Curriculog, if appropriate for your course. Awardees must also commit to teaching the class within two (2) calendar years of submission. Each participant will present their draft syllabus to the workshop on an assigned day.
