Description
Most recreation therapists have been taught to use conceptual models and evidence-based or evidence-informed practice to effectively, efficiently and safely achieve patient outcomes; however, few are aware of how the purposeful application of theory can further support these aims, while also deepening their practice knowledge. This session provides a brief overview of theory, its function, and how it can be applied in RT mental/behavioral health practice, specifically using behavioristic and cognitive-behavioral theories.
