In this presentation, we will demonstrate what Quantum superposition is in an intuitive non-mathematical manner. We will attempt to convey why it is Quantum Computer can solve bigger problems in a way that classical computers cannot. We will explain how Quantum computers, when one big enough is built, will break the Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) as well as provide an alternative to PKI. And finally, we will discuss what Quantum computing can do for businesses.
Dr. Clayton Ferner is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. He received his Ph.D in Computer Science from the University of Denver in 1997. His areas of interest include Quantum computing, Quantum algorithms, Quantum computing education, and parallel and distributed computing.
