  • This study was conducted to gain an understanding of basic motivators to collegiate extramural tournament participation. Over 200 extramural participants’ motivators were measured at a Southeast Regional Flag-football tournament. Extramural participants’ motivators varied from the thrill of competition to participating with other members of their team. Investigation and greater understanding of extramural participant motivators can provide tournament directors with the ability to offer memorable and meaningful programmatic experiences.
