Abstract
- The goal of the research presented in this proposal is to address the disorders or diseases which have the stress as its base. In particular, I propose to work on Post-Traumatic Stress Disorders (PTSD) in younger population, adults, and older adults. I propose to design a fully automated continuous monitoring system which has the capability to process multimodal data to analyze PTSD behavior. I propose a physical system which has the capabilities to train with large sets of physiological, psychological and behavior data using the machine learning and artificial intelligence paradigms. I propose systems that are not just capable of analyzing the PTSD levels, but can also help in predicting the anxiety levels, stress patterns and to understand the mental health of the person. I propose wearables and non-wearables systems which not only provide security and privacy to the user obtained data but also have secured ways of transferring the information among the other devices in the network using the Internet of Medical Things. This proposal has a potential to lead to the study of (1) anxiety level monitoring, (2) pre-traumatic stress disorder, (3) stress as baseline (4) chronic stress and (5) disease prediction.
