The purpose of this session is to discuss facilitation methods for creating faculty-student and student-student connections when teaching in an online environment. The Covid-19 pandemic led many higher education institutions to quickly pivot from an in-person format to a virtual format, resulting in many students feeling isolated. Given that many institutions may choose to continue virtual classes past the period of the pandemic, the concept of “connectedness” is important. This panel will share research on how best to facilitate “connectedness,” share success stories, and discuss new ideas to try as we move forward.
