Description
As a model for science education, SENCER principles lend themselves to teaching students about physiological changes associated with aging and the health sequelae of such changes. Through interactions with aging-services providers and non-profit community agencies, objectives for a service-learning health promotion and aging course were developed. Students in the HPA course engage in a service-learning project, developing information sheets for a local non-profit organization that seeks to educate older adults about health and quality of life.
