Description
This presentation assessed team-teaching strategies for graduate student instructors. Having partnered to teach an upper division social gerontology course, as a special topics course in public health, we found the experience to provide many benefits including building confidence in delivering lectures, creating assignments and exams, and grading consistently; providing a back-up lecturer when either instructor was required to travel for dissertation data collection, conference presentations, or job interviews; and simply having someone with whom to share the blessings and burdens of course preparation, which can be overwhelming for first-time instructors.
