Abstract
- The purpose of this proposal was to acquire funds to implement a photography competition (including promoting the competition through a campus and community postcard mailing to invite participation) and to create the final product – a high quality, framed photography exhibit to be displayed in the Arena Building (and available to travel to other local venues upon request). The competition and exhibit serve to foster more positive views of aging in our society (important given the changing demographics of the population and the rapid aging we are witnessing around the world). Furthermore, the exhibit contributes to a more appealing learning environment as it will beautify the Arena Building. This more pleasant environment will benefit students, staff, and faculty who study and work near the exhibit.
