Student perceptions of online learning effectiveness in a Community of Inquiry (CoI) can help guide faculty in developing effective strategies to meet learner needs. 3,4 Standardizing utilization of a teaching assistant (TA) may serve as an instructional approach that faculty can implement to promote student success online.5 The purpose of this research is to determine if a standardized set of TA guidelines improves student perceptions of online learning effectiveness in 7-week online RN-BSN courses.
