he Association of College and Research Libraries recently revised their long-standing information literacy standards into the Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education. This change provides an excellent opportunity to discuss the role of information literacy in the first year experience at UNCW, during which all freshmen take a First Year Seminar that includes a required information literacy component. This facilitated discussion will explore the ways in which information literacy fits into the first year seminar course. Participants will brainstorm new and creative methods for further integration and work to develop practical approaches for their own courses and programs.
