Abstract
- While the costs of electronic journals and databases have risen dramatically, libraries' budgets have not increased at sufficient rates to keep pace. As a result, many libraries have been forced to examine their electronic resources and determine which to cancel. Library personnel employ e-resource usage statistics to help make this decision. This study reports interview responses of ten e-resource selectors at UNC-Chapel Hill in an effort to determine which usage statistics measures are most valuable and how the selectors employ usage statistics in their cancellation decisions.
