Abstract
- Engaging with Oswald de Andrade’s Anthropophagic philosophy (“Anthropophagic Manifesto” and Crisis of Messianic Philosophy), this article offers an analysis which scrutinizes the Occidental subject. It shows how Andrade dialogues with the self-conscious European subject/philosopher and that, with his Anthropophagy, breaks the stability in which the putative conscious/rational European/imperialist subject was based.
