This presentation was part of a larger case study using critical ethnographic methodology to examine a historically white, liberal arts women’s college in the South as it grappled with an emerging multicultural identity. I examined how, within this tumultuous space of multiple cultural and ethical negotiations and exchanges, two faculty members committed to responding to the needs and experiences of its diverse student body teach, construct counter-narratives, and invited others to engage in their own critical examination and transformation of cultural and institutional arrangements.
