Abstract
- The focus of this workshop is to help participants analyze mathematics test items to consider the thinking required to solve them. Participants explore open-ended items, multiple-choice items, and extended multiple-choice items to investigate how the structure of test items affects how much students can show about what they know. Participants learn about national trends relating to a particular content strand and grade level as they examine test items and student performance data from the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP).
