Description
This multi-case study explores how literary texts and the tourist behaviors they inspire shape visitors’ experiences and understandings of associated destinations. Embracing the perspective that space is place made meaningful by human movement through, and communication about a location, this in-depth examination illustrates how a sense of place can be created through text by both framing a destination within an author’s lens and shaping how tourists will “perform” a destination with literary works in mind.
