Description
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) consists of a set of progressive lung diseases that afflicts millions of people worldwide. Patients suffer physical, anatomical complications and physiological, biochemical abnormalities. Innovative, complementary therapies are needed to facilitate pulmonary ventilation (Reel, et al., 2016; Kerr et al., 2016). Investigators are embarking on a study to explore a noninvasive, innovative device intended to facilitate pulmonary ventilation. Investigators created an interprofessional team to support the complex needs of this study, as it crosses multiple scientific disciplines. This presentation will illustrate the benefits and challenges associated with working on an interprofessional team. These collaborations can be challenging, but also are productive and provide an exciting learning opportunity.
