Abstract

  • This article examines the conditions of possibility for the emergence of regional minority literature and “immigrant” minority literature in the contemporary period by opposing the well-established politico-literary tradition of French universalism with post-1968 principles of “equality.” Developing the notion of “accented literature,” it goes over the reasons why these two types of minority literatures are important to study and consequently also examines the conditions of possibility for teaching these new literatures at the university level.
