In this presentation, facilitators will discuss the design, implementation, and assessment of three study abroad programs in the College of Education at UNCW—Belize, London, and South Africa. Facilitators will (1) describe the integration of these experiences into students’ overall teacher and leadership preparation programs, (2) discuss ways these programs foster authentic global experiences, enhance candidates’ teaching and leadership skills, and foster reciprocal professional experiences across borders, (3) describe the integration of these study abroad experiences into the teacher education curriculum, (4) discuss the extension of these programs to P-12 partnership school faculty and administrators, and (5) highlight the unanticipated lessons (trials and tribulations) from practical integration. This will be an interactive session that integrates documentary, audience polling, and structured dialogue.
