Abstract

  • This chapter is a study of the US Latino Peruvian American author Daniel Alarcón's short stories about Lima, Peru, and how they help create a narrative space for the author to form his transnational identity, and how the Peruvian literary circle has come to accept him as its contemporary. It looks at the thematic content of Alarcón’s writings in conjunction with his Latin American contemporaries, and also explores the Peruvian literary circle’s attitude towards the United States.
