Physical Activity and Serum Biomarkers in Older Women with Cardiovascular Disease Experiencing Fatigue Presentation uri icon

Description

  • Fatigue is a common symptom in older patients with cardiovascular disease. Fatigue is a hallmark of frailty in older adults. •The variation in physical activity (PA) and frailty-related serum biomarkers: brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), vascular endothelial growth factor-A (VEGF A), and insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) among women with CVD who are experiencing fatigue is not understood. Fatigue was present in 17% of participants. Daily hours of sedentary behavior, light, moderate-to-vigorous PA, and serum biomarkers were not associated with fatigue.
