Overview

  • With a background in management consulting, game design, game-based learning, and instructional design, Dr. Ray Pastore earned his Ph.D. in Instructional Systems including a minor in Educational Psychology from Penn State University in 2008. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Instructional Technology Program as well as Program Coordinator of the eSports certificate program and Online Teaching and Learning minor at UNCW.
    In addition to serving as coordinator of UNCW’s eSports program, Dr. Pastore is faculty advisor for UNCW’s Seahawk eSports Club. He has worked on projects for fortune 100 companies, the military, as well as a myriad of schools and universities. He also runs a technology YouTube channel which has over 2 million views.

  • Teaching Overview

  • Dr. Pastore has been teaching face-to-face, online, and hybrid courses for many years. He has taught at Penn State University, Slippery Rock University, the University of Phoenix Online, and most recently the University of North Carolina Wilmington. His teaching experience includes a myriad of courses on topics including: technology use in the K-16 classroom and workplace, instructional design practice and theory, project management, online course development, and multimedia development.
