    Research Overview

  • Amy has conducted research about how students and teachers learn and understand scale/surface area to volume concepts. She has worked extensively with Dr. Gail Jones at NC State in the field of nanotechnology education and their second book explores how to each extreme scale (the very small and very large concepts covered in science). She is currently interested in how elementary methods students understand and use science teaching strategies.
