Overview

  • I am a full Professor in Educational Leadership at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. I served as the Interim Dean of the Watson School of Education from 2009-2011 and as the Associate Dean for Outreach Alliances for 11 years prior to assuming this two-year administrative assignment as Interim Dean. I have served as President and in other leadership positions for two national organizations and am a reviewer for an international journal on evaluation and assessment.

    Research Overview

  • I have worked extensively with university-school partnerships, providing leadership to move partnerships to higher, more meaningful standards and to address student-learning outcomes. I am actively involved in writing and directing state, federal and private grants totaling over eight million dollars. Areas of research at the university are predominately in educational change, school administration, supervision, and leadership development.
  • Teaching Overview

  • Areas of teaching and research at the university are predominately in educational change, school administration, supervision, and leadership development. I have designed and taught courses in the graduate programs for Curriculum, Instruction and Supervision as well as the Masters for School Administration. I have also involved in curriculum development and has worked with the Ed Leadership doctoral students. I have supervised interns (graduate and undergraduate) and taught instructional design at the undergraduate level.
