Liz Hines holds an M.A. in Geography from the University of Kansas and a Ph.D. in Geography from Louisiana State University. She teaches Cartography, Planning, World Geography, the Geography of Food and the Geography of Race at UNC Wilmington. She is the director of the Geography Internship Program. Her research interests include American Racial History, the American South, and Foodways. She is a board member of the African American Heritage Foundation of Wilmington and the Ten Year Plan to End Chronic Homelessness in the Lower Cape Fear Region.
