Overview

  • Priscila Norris, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, joined the UNCW School of Social Work as a lecturer in 2022. Her academic career began in 2018 at East Carolina University where she earned her MSW graduate certificate in Military and Trauma Counseling in 2015. She has additional training in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction from Duke University, Mental Health Integrative Medicine Provider, and is a Registered Yoga Teacher.

    Her practice experience includes psychotherapy in private practice, clinical supervision, community mental health, military behavioral health, crisis intervention, developmental disabilities, and service on various boards with NASW and other organizations. She has a special interest in holistic and integrative approaches to mental health and self-care and in the advancement of social justice and anti-oppressive social work education, clinical practice, and supervision.
